I am a larper in the UK and I have been looking into fighting claws for my character I am currently creating. This is a good tutorial, the only thing I would have to say is that you need better lighting. It is a bit too dark to pick out the dark details on a dark background.
Out of curiousity, if you wanted to add fur do you know a good way to apply it?
